Refund Policy.

Effective Date: May 18, 2026

1. Overview

This Refund Policy explains the conditions under which refunds may be issued for services provided by HandlesX LLC ("we," "us," "our"), operator of rarehandle.co (the "Service").

This Policy forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service. In case of conflict, the Terms of Service prevail.

2. Nature of Our Services

We provide intermediation and marketplace services for the acquisition of premium social media usernames ("handles"). Each handle is a unique, non-fungible digital asset. Once transferred, handles cannot be returned, re-listed, or restored to their previous state without the cooperation of multiple parties.

For this reason, our refund framework differs from standard e-commerce refund policies.

3. General Refund Principle

All completed transactions are final and non-refundable once the handle has been successfully transferred to the buyer's control.

A transaction is considered "completed" when:

  • The buyer has confirmed receipt of the handle credentials or transfer
  • The buyer has had the opportunity to access and verify the handle
  • 24 hours have passed since handover without a written dispute being raised

4. When Refunds Apply

4.1 Failed Delivery by Our Fault

If we are unable to deliver the agreed handle due to circumstances within our control, we will refund 100% of the amount paid within 14 business days.

4.2 Misrepresented Handle

If the handle delivered materially differs from the agreed specification (e.g., wrong spelling, different length, different platform), and the issue is reported in writing within 7 days of delivery, we will either re-execute the transaction with the correct handle at no additional cost, or refund 100% of the amount paid. The choice is at our discretion.

4.3 Transaction Cancelled Before Payment

You may cancel a confirmed inquiry at any time before payment, with no fees.

4.4 Transaction Cancelled After Payment, Before Transfer

If you cancel after payment but before the handle is transferred to your control, we may retain up to 20% of the transaction value as a service fee. The remaining 80% will be refunded within 14 business days.

5. When Refunds Do Not Apply

5.1 Platform Actions After Transfer

We are not responsible for, and do not refund, any consequences resulting from third-party platform decisions, including:

  • Suspension, recovery, or modification of the handle by the underlying platform
  • Changes to the platform's terms of service that affect handle usage
  • Legal or regulatory actions against the platform that impact your handle
  • Algorithmic enforcement actions taken by the platform

5.2 Buyer-Side Issues

  • The buyer fails to secure the handle (e.g., does not change credentials, does not enable two-factor authentication)
  • The buyer's broader account is suspended for reasons unrelated to the handle itself
  • The buyer chooses not to use the handle, or changes branding direction
  • The buyer loses access due to their own security failures

5.3 Subjective Dissatisfaction

  • Perceived lower commercial value of the handle after transfer
  • Changes in market conditions or handle valuations
  • Personal preferences that emerge after acquisition

5.4 Force Majeure

We do not refund when the inability to deliver, retain, or use the handle results from events outside our reasonable control, including natural disasters, governmental action, war, sanctions, internet outages, or platform-wide policy changes.

6. Cryptocurrency Payments

For transactions paid in cryptocurrency, refunds are issued in the same cryptocurrency used for payment, at the wallet address provided by the buyer at the time of refund request.

The refund amount equals the original transaction value in cryptocurrency units, not the fiat equivalent. We do not compensate for exchange rate fluctuations between the time of payment and the time of refund.

7. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, contact us in writing at:

  • Subject line: "Refund Request — [Transaction ID]"

Include:

  • Your full name and contact email
  • The transaction ID or invoice number
  • The handle in question
  • A detailed description of the issue
  • Supporting evidence where applicable (screenshots, communications)

We will acknowledge your request within 3 business days and provide a substantive response within 14 business days.

8. Chargebacks

We strongly prefer to resolve disputes directly. Filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer without first contacting us is a breach of our Terms of Service and may result in:

  • Suspension of your account
  • Forfeiture of any pending transactions
  • Legal action to recover the chargeback amount, applicable fees, and damages

Please give us the opportunity to resolve any issue before initiating a chargeback.

9. Escrow Transactions

For transactions facilitated through third-party escrow, refund procedures follow the escrow provider's terms. We will assist in coordinating refund requests with the escrow service but final disbursement decisions rest with the escrow provider.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent version. Changes apply prospectively and do not affect transactions completed before the change date.
